I've heard all this bruhaha about "The Perfect Storm" movie thats been out for a year or so.

What WAS this Perfect Storm? When and where did it take place? (I didn't see the movie myself)

Why is it such a perfect Storm? I mean Hurricane Andrew was as much an example of a storm to MY way of thinking as any OTHER storm.

Shed some light on this subject people, enlighten me!! Confused Confused Confused Confused Confused

several intense weather patterns combined into what meteorologists described as a "perfect" storm, with winds that howled past 90 mph and seas that towered to 100 feet. The 70-foot swordfish longliner Andrea Gail was heading back toward Gloucester from Canada's Grand Banks when it ran into hurricane-force winds Oct. 28.

The vessel went down somewhere off Sable Island, apparently with the whole crew aboard.
