Some of Nader's Foreign Policy Nader on Foreign Policyvotenader.orgLooking at Nader's overall positions on all the issues, I think that Nader makes a great deal of sense in many cases, makes no sense in some cases, and has some good ideas that would never work. However, a vote for Nader would be just a protest vote (I will win the Gold Medal Women's All Around Gymnastics before Nader wins the Presidency.), and no protest is meaningful unless it provokes a reaction of some kind. In my opinion, Nader votes in Florida gave us George Bush, who can be seen as the anti-Nader (I won't discuss this statement, so don't bother trying to drag me into a discussion about it.), so any would-be Nader voters need to consider how they would feel should that happen again. Many Nader voters, and Nader himself, see elections as "My way or No Way" rather than an opportunity to work from within one of the only two parties that matter. Unfortunately for all, the closest that has come to working in the last century was Teddy Roosevelt's Bull Moose party in 1912. Nader's inability to compromise indicates that he would be a poor President in any case.

"Who should I vote for?" - VV Kerry I posted a list of candidates for president a while back. It's slightly outdated, but does include web sites for many of them.

Was Clinton bad? I seem to recall things in this country going pretty well under Clinton. That had a lot to do with why he was re-elected. Certainly most people were better off during the Clinton years than they have been since, or than they were under Bush, Sr. So I don't see "worse than Clinton" being much of a criticism. After all, what we've got now is _much_ worse than Clinton. Alan Moore

So it is no longer a question of which two choices you have. Bush or Kerry.
The trick is to decide which one is the LESSER of two evils and vote for that one.
If it is a close tie, flip a coin.

Not necessarily. In the current presidential election, with the Iraq fiasco going on, I'm inclined to agree, a vote away from Bush/Kerry is probably wasted, but when times are good, a vote for a third party gives the two major parties a clue as to which direction they should be moving for the next election, and who they should be trying to satisfy between now and then.
