What are the rules governing declaration of benefits and interests by US legislators and members of the Administration? What benefits in kind or payments do they declare?
British Members of Parliament file a "declaration of members' interests" each year. This makes curious reading in some cases. The Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Tony Blair MP has declared that he rented a holiday home in Florida from Robin Gibb (one of the Bee Gees). Furthermore he has declared that he got a free upgrade on his British Airways flights to and from Miami on that trip.We have been asking ourselves whether the President of the United States would have been travelling a) on a commercial flight b) been paying anything at all for the flight and c) been booked to travel in economy (coach) in the first place No wonder our politics and our elections seem so cheap compared to America's Another MP declared that he works part-time as a dental surgeon. We can't be paying them enough!
