This should be "must viewing" by every voter in the country. IMO!

If the US Health Care industry is replaced with a nationalized system, it damn well deserves what it gets. We spend enormous sums of money and get relatively little value.

When you watch videos like this, does it ever occur to you that the maker of the video is NOT giving references?

Does it ever occur to you that it might just be a "hit-job"?

If you want to engage in anything intellectual, you need to understand sourcing, which sources are more valuable, and what information is relavent and compelling.

Your video has no intellectual value because it fails to give sources at all, therefore you should have ignored it.

(Currently in the US, emergency care is free to all, patients may not be turned away for any reason. You might be billed, and you might be asked about insurance, but you are free to thumb your nose at the facility, give false information, ignore the bill and still receive care. Your video missed this one.)

Veteran, this clip appears to be from 'Sicko'. The whole film is worth watching. It does give references. Smile

Veteran, when I see a post by someone who makes 32 posts on his maiden voyage into the 'pool, I become suspicious. Forgive me, but it appears that you may be more interested in attacking those "hateful liberals" than entering into a discussion or debate. Is there some reason we should consider your opinions on anything in particular? Confused

Fred, the movie "Sicko" is not a valid source of information, it is at best an entertainment venue. The movie doesn't offer a complete investigation of health care in Cuba, much less a complete consideration of health care in general.

Frank, liberals are always suspicious of those who disagree with them. Don't treat it as if it were anything new or fresh. When you read my responses, treat them as you would any other. Judge my answers by their merits as all mature adults are capable of and frequently do.

Interesting. It's perfectly accurate about France and what it says about the National Health Service in Britain is true. How was it wrong about the USA ?

What's Cuba got to do with it? The Cuba sequence lasts about, what, ten minutes? It may be the biggest load of nonsense there is. Now, explain why those people could ever be beter served by propagandist Cubans than they were being in the USA? It couldn't have happened in France. It couldn't have happened in Britain. It was happening in the USA.

You and I are at different points in the discussion.

You automatically assume the veracity of both the video and the movie, I automatically assume the movie is propaganda based on the maker and his penchant for controversy. I automatically assume the video is of no value because there is a lack of sourcing and a lack of context.

It's a waste of time to continue a discussion that sets such a low intellectual standard.

If I could be of assistance:

Before you try to talk about corporate profit, prove to me you know how to determine how much profit a corporation makes and how they use it. Our judgments should be based on information, not on emotional response to someone who sounds like they're spitting out data.

(If you need help in either of these areas, I'd be happy to walk you through a 10-K filing.)

No. I know for a fact that everything said in the movie about the healthcare in France and in Britain is correct. That's because I live in both countries and are familiar with both systems.Moore hasn't lied about that.

Now, where has he lied about American healthcare?

Then perhaps you could be so kind as to provide us some competent links since the video couldn't.

Play along with me; let's put Mr. Moore to the test.
