The president makes $400,000 per year. He also gets (I think) $50,000 to run the White House. All "gifts of state" from other governments are the "property of the people" and remain with the government. Of course, personal gifts are excepted. No, he doesn't pay rent while in the White House. And whenever he flies, it's always on Air Force One, so I guess "vacations" are sorta paid for. At the end of his term(s) he gets $200,000 per year, plus Secret Service protection, plus an "office." Remember Bill Clinton's first choice for his office in Manahattan And the fuss it caused because of the "rent"? That's why he ended up in Harlem instead.

It's a good thing he is not in it for the money ! Badly paid, with high responsibility and always at a fair risk of assassination. It's a wonder the job attracts someone of Mr Bush's caliber; plainly a man with an MBA, if he's any good at running a big business, would earn a lot more By comparison, Mr Blair, gets £178,000 per annum [$320,000] basic, so is about as badly paid. Tony Blair's wife, Cherie, earns a lot more than he does; estimated to £500,000 [$900,000] . She is a barrister. We assume that Laura Bush does not go out to work and so help with the housekeeping, so the Blairs may have a higher current income. (As they've just bought a house in London for £3.6 million; $6.5 million, to retire to, they may need it )

A few additions - Although the President keeps personal gifts, there are limits to the values of gifts he is permitted to accept. - I don't know how the 'perks' are currently regulated, but some presidents have made good use of them. Washington, although he refused salary both as a general and as president, made very good use of the benefits.
