About 4 months ago someone came around campus requesting that people register to vote. Since I wasn't living at home I filled out a form requesting an absentee ballot for where I was living then. Now, I am moving again, and I want to change the address for where I am going to have my absentee ballot sent too. I'm not sure though how to go about doing it though. Also, I am wondering, because I filled out that form, does that mean that I am registered to vote, or do I still need to register? I guess some suggestions would be helpful.

You won't be able to vote until you get your voter registration card. As for changing your address, you will probably need to contact the election commission (or whatever authority it is in your state) of your county of residence. Try looking for the information on your state's website.

All you need to do is go to the nearest branch of the Post Office and get a voter registration card and fill it in with your old and your new address. Usually, the public libraries and Motor Vehicle Administration also carry those forms.

Just be sure to do it as soon as possible, because if you’re not registered a certain number of days before the election, you aren’t allowed to vote.

Makes me sorta glad to have moved.

My native state, Kentucky, will probably go to the dark side (GOP). However, here in Virginia, I can vote and possibly help make a difference in a battleground state.
