We used to smile at the McCarthy era questionnaire for visitors to the US. Questions along the lines of 'Do you intend or have you ever intended to overthrow the US government?'had a certain charm [Correct answer is 'Sole purpose of visit'] Yet a humorist here in Britain has claimed that such a questionnaire still exists and is used. Is this so? Is it used much? What questions does it contain? Is it available online?

(I don't recall being so questioned, but the last time I visited British citizens had no special visa requirement and entry was expedited and straightforward . Was this, is this, questionnaire used for some other nationals?)

Fred, that was how we kept the Commies out. By asking that and requiring people to say "under God" when reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, we insured that we would be safe. (Everyone knows that lying under either of those circumstances is impossible. A Commie's tongue would rot or they would turn into a pillar of salt if they tried it.) I think we had to be careful so as to allow ex-Nazis in, however. Our rocket program back then still needed some help.
