I was amused by Bush's statement on why the Democrats routed the Republicans in this mid-term election :

" I thought when it was all said and done, the American people would understand the importance of taxes and the importance of security." ~ George W. Bush

Is it just my imagination, or did he essentially say that his party lost because we were too stupid to understand his agenda ?

That's basically what he said. He must have misunderestimated the electorate.

It's also what Rumsfeld said in his resignation statement: Iraq was complicated and people don't understand it.

Was that complexity a 'known known', a 'known unknown',an 'unknown known' or an 'unknown unknown'? Did the Secretary have a category for what we,in the rest of the world, already knew but he did not know until it was too late ?

Well, we were stupid enough to vote him in, twice, knowing full well what he was all about by the 2nd election.

Some of us voted against him. Others were dumb enough to vote for him. The final bunch were the dumbest of all and didn't vote.
