I have never liked it when a Senator "brings home the bacon" for his or her state. Far too often, that pork is wasted tax dollars. At a time when government spending seems to be out of control, and the party in charge thinks that cutting taxes for the wealthier citizenry makes sense during an expensive war, pork seems to be a poor choice for the health of the budget.
