...she doesn't win Texas and Ohio?

Clinton suggests she'll stay in race after Tuesday

"Clinton's husband, former President Clinton, has asserted that his wife must win both Texas and Ohio to keep her campaign alive. On Friday, Hillary Clinton's advisers recast the stakes, saying if Obama lost any of the four presidential primaries Tuesday — Rhode Island and Vermont also vote — it would show Democrats are having second thoughts about him."

In a system where the democratic nominee is selected by a combined melange of primaries, caucuses, pep rallies, and nit-picking commentator-prognosticators, anything can happen. And with so much unfilled, 24/7 media time remaining, no doubt will. I think she is justified in waiting; surely as much as Huckabee, for the voting results. Frankly, I'm not in favor of campaigns being cast so early that it is decided by polls, pundits, and advertising money; half the country never gets a chance to exercise their right to a vote.

Yes she will. She'll lose Texas by a small margin and get home in Ohio Smile

Then she's hoping for Barama to trip up or be tripped. She's already had a gift with that bit about Obama's man telling the Canadian that Obama might bluster for the election but didn't mean to do anything about NAFTA. More stuff like that and Obama won't seem so good Smile

Not that NAFTA has harmed the US economy or affected Ohio, in truth (according to The Economist) , but who cares about economic truth when there's an election on? Being economical with the truth is what it's about !

The fat lady has yet to sing on her campaign. She is showing some tremendous resolve right now. Fred may be right on Texas, though the method of apportioning delegates may not put her at much of a loss. An Obama victory may depend on something he seems to inspire that is unique in the US - young voter turnout.

This is an energetic race and I hope it's not over, yet.

Strange thing, but my bookmaker isn't opening a book on that: nobody would bet against it ! But he does offer the following on the next new scandal, about a presidential candidate, to be reported :
80-1 links to terrorism
4-1 tax irregularity
4-1 campaign financing irregularity
16-1 gay/lesbian affair
but only
5-4 adultery

How about a double, coupling Obama on 'links to terrorism' with Clinton on 'campaign financing irregularity? Smile There have been worse bets: it's on a new scandal not whether the story is ultimately proved correct."I did not inhale with that woman", or whatever it was, still wins, true or not !

Sadly (?) Obama is now 6 to 1 ON (i.e. £6 wins £1 profit) and Clinton 7-2 (i.e. £2 wins £7 profit) to be the nominee.

The "if" is over with now. Mrs. Clinton had an excellent day, winning the two big prizes and 3 of 4 states. She scored a knockdown in the 7th round, with Obama still ahead on points.

Here is an interesting development. Hillary is hinting on sharing the ticket with Obama...

My thoughts, if she is the nominee, she would benefit by having Obama as her VP candidate. However I feel Barack Obama would gain nothing if Hillary was her VP.

I agree, but I find it hard to imagine her accepting the role of second banana. Roll Eyes
