Hi - my son's 10th birthday approaches and I'm considering IPOD shuffle to start with. Is it true we can download CD to computer to IPOD? Special software for this? Or any other ideas? He wants some of the latest stuff and I'd rather promote music listening rather than video games.

Compatibility between CDs and iPod isn't actually a feature. I'd imagine that it's not legal according to copyright law.

If you're still able to, I guess it depends on the CD, whether or not it's got the protection from the illegal copying.
