From the northen latitudes, I know the sun rises in the east-southeast and sets in the west-southwest. In the winter, does it rise and set in the east-northeast and west-northwest, respectively? It's been too cold here for me to take notice!

Here on the Great Gulf Coast, the sun rises in the ESE and sets in the wSW in the winter months.
In the summer months, it rises in the ENE and sets in the WNW.
And in the spring and fall, it's directly in between: Rises in the east, sets in the west.
(I know - I've watched it for years! )
