Julieta, I have no idea what you have been hearing, and the $90,000 doesn't ring any bells. You will need to provide more information, such as what kind of "airships", etc. before you can expect an answer. smile wink confused

Sorry..... I was just going to rephrase my question because of no response. I'm so perfectly clear in my head that I think that everyone should know what I'm talking about... hehe sorry again.

Well I was told from a friend that they've developed airships now that allow you to take a 20 minute ride in space, but the catch is that you have to pay $90,000 a seat. Anyone else heard of this?

There's a supersonic -- or hypersonic -- rocket plane in development that could get you from Los Angeles to New York in 30 minutes. So you could get anywhere in the world in a very few hours.

There's a separate idea that someone will build a rocket plane that is capable of launching, going high enough to reach the edge of space (but not go into orbit), then come back and land like a plane, sort of like the Space Shuttle. The $90,000 probably relates to speculation about how expensive that ride might be.

And you can be sure a 30-minute flight across the U.S. will cost a bunch, too. You'll pay for the convenience of a quick flight, just like you pay for the luxury of First Class nowadays.

check it out: http://www.spaceadventures.com/suborbital/
Space is generally defined as beginning 50 miles above the earth's surface (if you get up this high the US will award you astronaut wings).
this company is offering flights of over 62 miles for $98,000 and claims that flights will start in the next few years.

Try this site:

It is about an upcoming balloon trip to the edge of space with the possibility of using it as future near-space tourism to raise money. No price tag is mentioned, however.
