The estrogen I take for menopausal symptoms has worked fine up until lately (estraderm .1 MG), but for about the last 2 months it hasn't done anything. I am continuously hot, hot, hot and sweating like a stevedore. It is very uncomfortable! I think .1 is the highest dose you can get for estraderm, does anyone here take more?

Catty you will probably have to take a additional supplement. I take a Multi Vit. and extra Vit. C, calicum, Vit E and Vit B6. I wish they would make a multi vit. that had the amounts all in it instead of lower amouts. I'm not a good pill taker. Good Luck I hope you cool down!

Catty, unfortunately I can't take anything for mine as I have had breast cancer. I understand your HOT,HOT,HOT!!! What my oncologist nurse suggested was 800 units of Vit. E a day, and 1000 mcg's of B-12. They have helped me.

Sandy, I will try what you suggest. I've only been taking the amounts found in one-a-day vitamins, which they say are 100% of the RDA, but perhaps I need more. Thanks for that info.

Just in case anyone else is interested, I talked to my doctor yesterday and she told me to go to a health food store and get some progesterone cream. You apply this to the skin and it's supposed to help. $25 for two tubes. I'll let you know if it does.

It works, friends! I am now only hot when it's really hot, and sweating not at all! It seems I needed progesterone! I would recommend this to anyone who is on estrogen therapy but still suffering hot flashes. Sandy, check with your doctor about this stuff, it shouldn't affect your condition at all.

Catty, Thanks for the great idea. I called my oncologist and unfortunatly it's a no go for me. Good luck with though! I'm soooooo glad you are getting some relief. I get lupron shots to put me in menopause and keep me there! Lucky me huh? They say it is even more intense when yougo through it chemically.. Oh well winter is comming.

The always hot, Sandy
