I am getting married next month; legal wedding on 4th July, spiritual ceremony and reception on 10th July. All organized and happy. Except today, I got my period. I used to get it every 30-31 days, but for the last three months, it was every 27-28 days. And in 28 days is just a couple of days after our wedding. Really, really bad timing. Does anyone know a way to delay a period for a few days, or speed it up a few days (ie, make it come earlier or be over quicker)? The first option would be the best but I'll take anything...

If you are on the pill you can take two packs 'back to back' instead of the usual break. I did it once, it does work.

Not on the pill, as we want to start trying for a family asap (and had no reason to be on the pill before married ;*). But I was told raspberry leaf and fennel tea and help bring on/regulate a period. Also, just looked at my calendar... the last two intervals were 3 weeks and 4 days and 3 weeks and 5 days. If I stay with that interval, I'd have my period the week before the wedding, and it should be over by the legal wedding. That would be ideal, and would also place the night of the spiritual wedding squarely into the "fertility" time.

Silja, Congrats on your impending nuptials. The excitement and stress alone could be enough to delay your period. But, if you have a kind and understanding physician/gyn doctor, you could ask him/her to prescribe progestogen or a similar product to delay your period. It is always worth a try.

Silya, I am so pleased to hear you are getting married. Smile

Stress (there are good kinds and bad kinds.. and wedding nerves is certainly a good reason) definitely can alter your pattern of menstruation.

If you DO have your period during or near your wedding, it isn't the end of the world. Shower play can be very fun. Wink Red Face
