Is there something out there that you can take that really helps with PMS? For the last couple years the week before my period has been terrible for me and my family, my mood swings are enough to send the bravest running. At first it wasn't this bad but anymore its really bad. I have thought about going to the doctor's but I'm embarrassed. Is it just me? Is there something wrong with me? Sometimes it gets so bad that I literally feel like someone else has taken over my body, I also have irrational thoughts that make me think I must be nuts. Any advice is appreciated.
Yes do talk to your doctor, PMS and Raging PMS are common enough and in most cases are treatable with The Pill - yes the birth control pill. Why? because it balances out the monthly hormone changes which regulate flow and fertility in women.
There are other methods out there too if you are not comfortable with The Pill - but you must talk to your doctor.
Again you are not alone and there is medical treatment to curb that wild tiger.

There are many women who suffer with your symptoms, so your doctor will be used to hearing about such things. Please do visit your doctor! I have found that the herb Agnus Castus helped even out both my physical and mental symptoms very well; I take a three months course of the tablets (the herb tastes vile, so don't go for the tincture!) every year.
Sorry it took me so long to reply... Thanks you both for your advice it was much appreciated. My doctor will not prescribe birth control for me due to the fact that I am over thirty five and smoke. As for the herb Agnus Castus I will check into it, at this point I'm willing to try anything. Thanks again Beth
