I think what Silja is asking is "are women more perceptive of painful stimuli at certain times during the month" And the answer is yes. During ovulation (I believe) women are more sensitive. It's funny but my manicurist can always tell when her clients are at that stage because what normally would not bother them now sends them flinching in pain. And I know for me, there are times when she works on my nails that I'm extrememly sensitive to pain and other times when I am not. As an added footnote: women are also more ticklish at certain times. It's funny, I am not ticklish until "that time of the month"

I look forward to a three day migraine headache just before the onset of my period each month. Also period pains first day . I don't know about being more sensitive to the pain, but it sure ain't no fun!
