Look here. There are quite a few reasons testing would occur. Check out the link for more information.

Amenorrhea (irregular periods, etc)

Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD)

are some things that he may be checking for.

So you are telling me that my ovaries are crap? I took several blood tests and on of them was a LH test.. The Dr. called me and said that they were showong up at a high levl, but he stressed to me not to worry.. Which only makes me more worried!! Now after reading that, well. I bawled. I am forcing myself not to cry right now...He wants to do anyother test, to make sure, or to see if it was just a fluke, because he said that the machine wasn't working right. I hope that it was a fluke. I am only 19 years old, and the only thing in life that I want/need are children!!!!! Frown Frown Frown Frown Frown Frown Frown Frown Frown Frown

Oh and how high is high? I mean, he said that the normal was like 12 or something. Do you know? Because that site didn't tell me.

Honey,
I didn't mean to make you scared. Let me tell you, I have 2 beautiful boys and I also have Amenrrhea (it stabilized after I had my sons), but before then, I would skip 6-9 months of periods in a year.

In fact, when I got pregnant in one March, I hadn't had a period since the previous September and then I didn't have one until after my pregnancy ended in August... so that year I went over a year without a period (but still got pregnant!).

Your doctor was right about not worrying, you might as well simply wait and see what the end results of the tests are.

Grumpybear, I sure hope that everything will turn out fine for you, and try not to get too upset.

Puppy, once a year? I would have prayed for that. Everytime something important came up in my life, my period was on, even on my wedding night. Frown

Frown I also jsut got told my ovaries are crab, and that I have to have more test done, but in the end we are gonig to have to remove them. I have always had irregular periods but the last 18 months I havent had one. Now they say Like everoyne else in my family, females that i have a hgiher chance of cancer and they need to be removed. Out of al lthe girls only my two sisters have been able to have kids, and I have always had a small amount of hope. I just turned 29 and we were thinknig of starting a family, now i myself can not help in that. I dont know how to feel i am mad or sad, crying or trying to joke about it. but i am lost and feel lost. All I have ever wanted was children.

But think of the plus side. Never having to worry about getting Ovarian Cancer. Total freedom to do things spur of the moment with no worries of having to plan around a period. There is always a bright side. Besides, if you want children that bad there are other means. But most important is that you will be healthy!

I had my Right ovary removed due to a huge cyst (football sized). I also have a high risk for cancer, I actually had surgery in 1993 for CIN Level 3 malformed cells (one teeny step below full-blown cancer). When I had the ovary removed, I felt such a loss AND I STILL HAVE another one!

I can't have more kids (I am a major risk for death with how bad my other pregnancies went, I nearly died for both of them).. and I grieve about it (a lot less now at 39 years old) but I do still grieve.

Sagus and I plan to adopt a child when he graduates college.

I can't say more than console you and say how sorry I am that you are not able to have children the biological way. But time DOES make the wounds less painful even if the hurt never goes totally away.

We are here to talk if you want to. My email is in my profile if you want to email me.
