With permission I am going to post something from a friend in here in hope of helping her out some. Any ideas or comments, especially from those with experience in the area is and will be very much appreciated.

She writes to me;
I had a cancer scare and now they are trying to figure out what is wrong with me. They biopsied my cervix and I don't have cancer, but for some reason have stopped ovulating at 25 years old. I don't want any more children, but all the bleeding and hormonal problems that they can't figure out why they are happening are driving me crazy. I have fainted several times, I'm constantly dizzy, hot flashes, mood swings, and the abdominal pain is horrible.
They have me on a hormone now, well I just finished it, and now we are talking a possible Hysterectomy which means at 26 I will be going through menopause.

C'mon ladies I need your help here.

Actually I just thought of this but I have known severe stress to have caused similar symptoms.

Can I ask what hormone they put her on, and what tests they already did to find out what it could be? There are lots of reasons why a woman might stop ovulating, from stress like you mention over PCOS, thyroid issues and many others. Many of these things can be solved, or at least the symptoms lessened, without a hysterectomy.

I will ask her. I gave her the link and told her to keep track of this as you would need a little more info to give her a decent idea. So, when I here I will post or she will join and do it herself.

I do however want everyone to know that she IS seeing a doctor and is frustrated at the lack of answers she is getting. She is looking for things to discuss and eliminate, or (with luck) find the source of her pain and problems so they might be remedied without a hysterectomy.

Thanks and I will get back to you.
Sean

If she is frustrated with her doctor, she should seek a second (professional) opinion. Some of us have had personal experiences and can give suggestions, but anything we offer is no substitute for a doctor's counseling.

If she is willing to post here, maybe more information from her could spark some ideas, though.

Sorry, I don't have any advice to offer, Sean.
However, I wanted to say it's good to see you posting here at AP. I enjoyed your posts on other sites.
I wish your friend well. dg

Thats the general idea. I haven't heard from her in a day or so, but I'd like to give her a few ideas. I'm sure she's spoken with several different doctors and at this point just trying to seek out ideas and options to avoid a hysterectomy. I can't say I fault her logic in that and I want to help her. (if I/we can)

D/G Thanks for the wonderful thoughts. A/P has always been one of my favorite sites, but I'm so............not "worthy" enough to post a lot around here. I do try to offer help when I can, but being a jack of all trades and a master of only one, that severely limits my expertise to automotive. But A/P surely isn't short on knowledgeable answers, so I usually keep my mouth shut and my ears open here unless I feel I have something positive to contribute. Thats why you see me elsewhere posting b/s. I have a Phd in that! hehehe Wink

From her;
I was on progesterone. I've had a biopsy on my cervix and they determined I haven't ovulated in a while.

We would surely love to hear some insight from you all on this matter. I was bragging about how many brains there were here to pick. I don't mind looking bad because I can't help her, but I hate seeing a friend in pain such as she. The poor girl is doing everything she can and is running low on options. All she wants are ideas. Can no one here help?
