My doctor assured me that Depro would not cause any weight gain from fat. He said the side effects are an increased appetite. Your eating puts fat on you. My appetite is awful. I'm not overeating. I have been going to a gym to slow down the progression. After almost two months, I haven't lost any weight.
Is there anything to these stories I have heard about Depro and large weight gain true?
True...all true...although docs will say weight gain is do to water retention or some other reason. I don't know what the scientific studies show but I know birth control does create weight gain for some people. For me, every time a new one was prescribed I gained at least 5 pounds. This went on for years. Every 6 months I'd try something different and every 6 months I'd gain 5 to 10 pounds. And I have known women taking the same as you and they had very large weight gains. I don't know why this happens for some and not for others. And I wish I could offer you some words of advice. Unfortunately all I can do is commiserate with you!
