Has birth control had an effect on anyone else's period?? This is my second month on it, and I wasn't supposed to get my period until the end of the month or around the 24-26th..But I started spotting around the 16 and 17th of this month and then it got heavier yesterday (21st)..Spotting and break-through bleeding is normal for the first 3 months generally right? And isn't your period supposed to be in conjunction w/the week you take the sugar pills (Reminder pills) ? Could it be that that's the reason why I started a little earlier, b/c it seemed to fall RIGHT when I started my sugar pill week.

I think virtually every form of birth control has some effect on your period. Some may make you skip periods all together for a few months and some may make you have them for three weeks at a time. There are also many other side effects that include, but are not limited to, weight gain and depression.
If your having problems with your current method of birth control, talk to your Dr. there are many different types. PB

Your body will need to adjust to the pills that your taking and in time it will/should make you regular. If it doesn't or your really worried about it now call the Doc, they should be able to tell you exactly what is going on. PB

I agree, your body probably just needs to adjust. This is true with any sort of medication. The pill IS good for regulating your period, but it may take a couple of months for your body to get used to it. I wouldn't worry. But if it is seriously intefering with your lifestyle, or you are worried, don't hesitate to call your doctor.

I just wanna say, in case it makes you feel better....I haven't had a period in 4 months. I'm on the shot. I take a pregnancy test every other month, just to make sure...so far, nothing.

So yes...Birth Control CAN make your period very weird
