Well, surgery is a trauma to the body. Hair loss often accompanies it. I, myself, have experienced it... in fact, I had surgery that altered my nutritional intake (Gastric Bypass), followed by a pregnancy and so I ended up losing 3/4 of my hair. Luckily I had a LOT of hair to start with.
However, it HAS started growing back.
As an RN, my advice to you would be to:
*Eat lots of protein, fruits and veggies
*Drink lots of fluids
*Do not use any damaging products or do any damaging procedures (such as coloring, bleaching, straightening with irons, etc)
* Use the MOST nourishing good quality shampoos and conditioners you can afford (
Bed Head is a great brand bought at some salons and online)
*Don't wash your hair every day unless it is really dirty
