What could I use to fill in my eyebrows without looking too overdone and fake? I've tried using a pencil but it ends up looking too harsh. I've tried the powder but it looks like I have eyeshadow on my eyebrows. What am I doing wrong?
What is the best product to buy?

Hi Clarebear! Clinique has some good eyebrow fillers. My mom has used them for years to draw herself some eyebrows becuase hers are so blond they are basically invisible. They have a subtle light brown shade that looks very natural.

I'm a freak about my eyebrows and have had the same problem as you filling them in. I usually use light brown eyeshadow and apply it super gently only in the spots that need it.

I use Revlon Natural Brows, color & style system.
It comes in a little plastic container, exactly like the single eye shadow container. It is much like what men use to darken mustaches. It does come with a small application brush, with which I use to apply it , but I use a different brush to blend. Applied lightly it looks very natural. smile

I prefer a very sharp eye-brow pencil - I use Maybelline. But I think the harshness does not lie in the product but in the application and color of it. Could it be the shade pencil you tried was too dark or the point not sharp enough?
The trick is to use light, feathery strokes, following the hair growth.

Of course you can try the dry product that LVLF suggests. I have tried it but I always go back to pencil.

Good luck!

I am a "beauty consultant" and we offer products to fill eyebrows, they work for some people. Not for me-- what I do, and use on makeovers, is to use mascara. Lightly sweep the wand over your eyebrow in the direction of hair growth. I use a brown color, you don't want anything too dark.

I have to agree with Georgia on this one. I find the pencil to be the best. Don't draw lines. Use very short, light strokes. Don't over do it either. Try using a lighter shade of brown and see if that works better. Too dark does look fake.

I have had very good luck with Mary Kay products. Thay have an eyebrow pencil that is blonde. It is the only one that I have found that looks natural on me (being a blond)
