I've worn Beautiful for about 7 years now and love it, but sometimes I wish I could find something new. Trouble is I get headaches from many perfumes. I've tried all kinds of new ones in my search, but always wind up having to wash it off. Anyone else have this problem? What works for you?

You could try going to The Body Shop. They have many natural fragrances and sensitive products. There are tons of glass testers so you could try smelling as many as you want. You make your own concoction. The salespeople are very helpful too. Just be sure to smell the coffee beans in between smells or you will get confused on the scents. Find out what is in Beautiful (since you know you can wear that) and then stay in that scent line. Look for the similiar perfume line whether it is floral, fruity, woodsy, spicy etc.. Sometimes I get a headache from someone wearing too much perfume. Sometimes I put on to much without realizing it because I can't smell it on myself. Maybe you used too much and it gave you a headache. Try using just a small squirt of the new brand. It sometimes hard to smell it on yourself. Even though you can't smell it, other people can. It's is hard to tell. If it was easy there wouldn't be so many people that smell like they marinate themselves in it. wink

The trick with perfume is finding one that smells good on you and doesn't give you a headache. I used to sell perfume, so I learned some of the tricks. You always want to make sure you try it on before purcasing. Often, too many people make the mistake of buying it before they see if it even smells good on their skin. If you spray it on your wrist, be sure NOT to rub your wrists together. If you do that, then you are mixing the perfume with the oils in your skin and will cause the fragrance to change. It is best to wait a few minutes and let the alcohol smell wear off. If you do try something on and don't like it you can always wash it off.

But there is an easier way to get it off, I learned. Just take some unscented lotion and rub it on your wrists and the smell should come off.

And always remember to smell the coffee beans in between. Your nose can only take about 3 scents at one time before they all start smelling the same and causing a headache. Smelling the coffee beans will clear your senses.

Remember too that when you put it on, don't douse yourself in it. People often think they have ti pour it on themselves because if they can't smell it on them, then nobody else can either.

Now, Beautiful contains lemon, jasmine, tuberose and is accented with lily of the valley, carnation and cedarwood. A fragrance that smells similar to Beautiful is Cabotine by Parfums Gres.

You may also like Liz Claibornes signature scent. This feminine scent possesses a blend of greens and white lily. Accompanied by fruity notes of mandarin and fresh citrus. But that has been discontinued. It is still in cirulation.

Or 212 by Carolina Herrera a blend of light florals, musk undertones, soft powdery flowers as well as white flower notes of gardenia, jasmine, and lily of the valley.

Any other questions regarding perfumes please feel free to ask smile Esencia

AAMOF, I do still have half a bottle of Liz Claiborne. I wore it constantly until I got tired of it. That's when I started wearing Beautiful. I'll head out to the Body Shop and give 212 a shot.

Anyone else got any ideas?

Hi Cris -- I also have worn Beautiful for years and love it. I experience headaches too, and noticed that my worst headache come from Georgio perfume and Anais Anais -- if you're as sensitive as I am you'll want to stay away from those two.

Next to Beautiful, my favorite is Calyx by Prescriptives -- it has a fresh fruity fragrance. I also wear Perry Ellis 360 for women; it also has a light fresh fragrance.

I recommend the next time you're at the mall, stop by the Prescriptives counter and test Calyx. Walk around the mall for an hour and see if you start to develop a headache from it. I doubt you'll have any trouble.

Let us know what you find, I'd be curious to know what other options you find.
