A relative bought me a bottle of wine a few years ago that I LOVED. It was a very sweet white wine, that came in a blue bottle. The name of it started with an R, and I thought it was something called Riesling.

But when I looked online, turns out thats a type of grape, so, now I am stuck for the kind of wine again.

Any suggestions?

Reisling is German white wine. The one in the blue bottle is called 'Blue Moon'. Was this the name?

I don't think it was either of them. Maybe it wasn't Reisling...argh.

The actual name of it, was the R (I thought Reisling) word.

Maybe SS Reisling Blue?? Check out this site...
In the Blue Bottle

If this isn't it either...based on your description, you would likely enjoy the majority of Reisling's available on the market -or maybe a Gewertzraminer. Yes, these are types of grapes, but the wines they make are sweet white wines that are great for dessert wines or pairings with cheese or light fish dishes.

From what you've said, it sounds like you are describing a Reisling. It's a sweet white wine, but I've found that it can vary a great deal between vineyards.

If you like Reisling, you would likely enjoy Pinot Grigio as well.
