I have just received an invitation to a baby shower that is 2 weeks away and the un-married mother to be is not due until christmas time. Does anyone else think it's a little soon. When is the proper time to have a baby shower?

I've always thought baby showers were in the mother's last month of pregnancy. But I guess some mother's want them sooner esp if there is a possibility of health complications.

Not knowing the details of her situation, I suggest that it might be due to scheduling and work conflicts with out of town family and friends. Maybe that is when she can get the most people together before the holidays and the birth of the baby.

She probably wants to have it while she can still get up off the couch. Catty(who has been through this several times)

but catty, i thought that was the point, the shower is in the last month or two when she can´t get off the couch, that way she´s stuck there and has to go through the embarrassment of "guess the baby´s sex by the circumference of mama´s stomach" or something...
