What world leader was coronated in 1967,
some 26 years after having taken power ?

I am going to guess on this one. I know that the Shah of Iran had a huge celebration in the late 60s or early 70s. The Emperor of Japan also had a much smaller one around this time.

Now that I read the question all the way through, I know that it can't be the Emperor. I am not sure when the Shah took power, but it it may have been as early as 1941.

Correct indeed ! The Shah of Iran
Mohammed Riza Pahlevi, who took
power in 1941, did not want a fancy
coronation at the time he took
power because of his country's
poor economic state !
