Whose wife died before his presidency? He had a stained glass window, dedicated to his wife, placed in a church so he could see it from the White House.

For the two remaining Christmas seasons, Arthur and his family were at the White House. Candlelight glowed through the memorial stained glass window that Arthur commissioned from Tiffany in memory of his wife at St. John’s Church across Lafayette Park, where it can still be seen today. - WhiterHouseHistory.org

A few Presidents had wives who died before becoming First Lady. Jefferson, as mentioned, was one; Andrew Jackson and Teddy Roosevelt were another couple. But only Arthur had a stained glass window placed in a church so he could see it from the White House.
