Wow Colin, have a great time, sounds wonderful! I would sincerely love to visit Venice someday, and it is in our future plans, along with Greece, Egypt, Australia, and on, and on and on...

Many thanks to you both, gizmogram and Fred, for responding. Seville turned out to be a fine, fine choice for a November getaway, and the temperature on Sunday (November the 18th) was 23 degrees centigrade as predicted. Eat your heart out Paris. Sadly, our first-choice flamenco venue was closed for two weeks while we were there, but a little research unearthed an alternative gem in the Santa Cruz area, probably the highlight of our stay. The dance and the atmosphere were memorable. The tapas bars came a close second, mind, though you do need to know your way around. Rudimentary Spanish helps lots, and a smile and curiosity as to what's on offer is a big plus. We ate so very well. A fine city, lots to do, much to see, and though the Alcazar, truth to tell, was disappointing, we did have "otras cosas" that more than compensated. Go!
