I have a project for school where I have to plan a 10 day trip to Death Valley California. I start from Richmond International Airport in Virginia, and have to end up there after a 10 day trip. I need to know how long and what airlines I would take from Richmond to California. I also need to know what activities there are to do in Death Valley. I have to spend 8 days in the National Park and 2 Days in the surrounding area. I have to write a report in the form of a journal. Please help me!

Las Vegas, Nevada is the nearest major airport convenient to Death Valley. I imagine Bakersfield, California would be the next closest regional airport.

Go to google.com and search for "Death Valley, CA". A bunch of good sites came up and should be able to help you come up with interesting activities that you could use in your report.

I also went to www.mapquest.com. It says that Las Vegas to Death Valley is 141 miles, or a 3 1/2 hour drive by car.

Do you know how long it takes to get from Richmond International Airport in Virginia to Las Vegas McCarran International Airport? I really need that bit of information for my report. Do you have any idea where I can find that out?

Sarah -- I went to Expedia.com to find out the shortest flight from Richmond, VA to Las Vegas, NV. All flights have connections or plane switches, but the shortest route I found was from Richmond, VA to Chicago, IL to Las Vegas, NV. American Airlines total flight time from Richmond to Las Vegas was 6 hours 34 minutes.
