Through the advice of a friend, we looked into and selected as our honeymoon destination the 14 miles of pure white sands of Ocrecoke Island. We are a little older (over 40) and love to fish, so we'll be bringing our own boat with us. However, I'm convinced we won't be on it as much as my fiance would like to believe. Either way, from all the reading and research we've done, we believe this is the best spot for us given our lifestyle, personalities and desire for quiet and seclusion during this special time.

I've never been to the Outter banks. Thankfully the outfit we have rented from insisted on insurance should weather or evacuation be an issue. Our linens are provided and it seems that we only need to bring typical items with us as well as food.

Does anyone have any kind of advice or experience with this type of vacationing? We're renting a house for one week with all amenities included. This is new for both of us so any insightful wisdom would be appreciated. We leave at the end of April.
