Anyone familiar with the illusionist Criss Angel? He'll be starring in a Cirque du Soleil show, "Believe" next month. I'd love to go to vegas and see it.

Has anyone else heard aboutt the show?

No, I haven't heard of this particular show, but it certainly sounds like it might be worthwhile seeing.Smile

I'm familiar with both acts. Cirque du Soleil is a Canadian based company, and their shows are amazing.
Criss Angel has been on television many times here, and is probably THE most popular illusionist around at the moment. I can see how the two would work well together.
I did a bit of looking around, and came up with this site:
Chriss Angel, Believe

The clips of "Believe" are basically just trailers right now, but here's one of

Alegría de Cirque du Soleil

and a Chriss Angel performance.

I think this show is going to be so much fun. I hope you get to go. Smile

I'm sure he puts on an excellent show. I watched his TV show a few times and he really wowed the show participants. Illusion is an art form and takes a lot of talent to master, so his ability is impressive. But it's not magic, it's just trickery. Smile

Yeah he's also the only person to have ever been named Magician of the year 5 times - And his show MindFreak is in its third season, has anyone watched it this season?

I watched a few shows the first season, rolled my eyes a lot and gave up. It's good enough stuff, but it doesn't prove anything to me so I don't bother. He seems like kind of a drama queen, besides.

No, I haven’t been to Vegas and likely won't ever go. Nothing much there interests me... I don’t think I’d spend my money on Chris Angel, but I would like to see the Cirque du Soleil eventually. Maybe they’ll come to Toronto...

I just wanted to let you all know about my experience of seeing Criss Angel Believe. Since I work with Cirque du Soleil, they actually sent a few of us out to Las Vegas to see the show. I really enjoyed the show since it had a lot of great artistic elements like the costumes, dancers, and beautiful illusions.

The show is definitely not your "typical" Cirque show. Much like Zumanity brought out the "sensual side of Cirque" this show is simply expressing a different part of Cirque. It's Cirque combined with Criss Angel. This was the 1st time that Cirque has partnered with a star and incorporated them as a main character into the show. Not to mention Criss does a great job of involving the audience as part of the show.

If you are going to Vegas, I would definitely recommend checking it out. It was definitely nothing like I have ever seen before.
