So, planning a trip to the Carolina's in a few months, but all the stuff we're reading seems to be setting us up for touristy spots, which we'd prefer to avoid. Any of you know of some less-traveled beautiful spots in the Carolina's we need to hit? Or just some of your fave spots/nightlife, etc., anything really. Thanks for any help !!!!

http://www.insiders.com/outerbanks/ The Atlantic is spectacular swimming w peaceful white sand beaches. Sort of rednecky but nice country folk. There was a bad hurricane a few years ago. You must check before going so you don't go to a disater area!

The Carolinas are a beautiful place to enjoy your vacation.

I would suggest Topsail Island. There are very good campgrounds, and beaches there. A great place to relax.
