Firefox does not have a feature that would lock someone out of the browser. The feature that bedstor mentioned only prompts for a password when loading saved form content, not applicable at all to your question.
Mozilla Firefox offers
very little in the form of built-in parental controls. Reason is, if you restrict access to Firefox, your son could switch to using IE, or install Opera, Safari, etc to bypass your restrictions. You need a strategy that would encompass all browsers to prevent your son's unauthorized internet activity.
If you share a single machine, I would say a
strong Windows password would be far more effective than attempting to password-protect a single program. This would prevent your son from using the system at all, unless you enter the password. (Remember to log off or shut down after anytime you use the machine!)
Instructions for XP Instructions for VistaIf your computer is directly connected to the cable/dsl modem, it may be possible to change your broadband password and have the modem ask for login every time. (If you use a router, this would not work) This process varies by model of modem and your ISP.
If you have a router and your son has his own computer... Many routers have the ability to deny access to certain computers at set times of day. Nearly all have the ability to block a specified computer entirely. This process varies by the model of router you may have.
Hope this was helpful!
