As you can imagine, I'm not happy! This laptop is less than 6 months old. I took it to Geek Squad. They said I was better off buying a new computer, which I did.

They really didn't look too close, but said my 'mother board' was bad. Is there any hope for this computer? My daughter would love to have it.

Over 30 years ago I used to be a technician in electronic.I know stuff nowadays are different but some things don't change.

You want to remove anything sweet or acid or salty etc... from the contacts. First remove all cards , plug-ins even the processor and flush thoroughly with clean water , wait 'till it drys off ( 48 hours at least) and put everything back together and try it again. If no shorts have damaged the circuits there's a chance this might work.

If the geek squad have already done that then...( don't ask them do it yourself again) they might be lying.

The 'geeks' told me to buy another computer. If I rip this thing down, you think I can salvage it?
