I had installed compressed folder from my windows me cd. But when i am trying to click file/new/compressed folder, i can't find the word "compressed folder" in there, is there anyway i can fix this? or, is there another way to make a new compressed folder? confused

Can you not use Winzip? it is Ok to use with Windows MEwww.winzip.com

but i heard that winzip will change all zip file into a winzip file and if i don't want winzip and uninstall it, the zip files will never change back to normal zip files, is it correct? confused

Uninstall, then reinstall, the compressed files component.

If this does not resolve the problem, install Microsoft's Tweak UI tool.

To install Tweak UI, create a new folder on the Desktop, and rename it "Tweakui". If you use some other name, use eight or fewer characters and no spaces. Download Tweakui.exe and save it to the TweakUI folder.

Open the folder and double-click the tweakui.exe file. In the "Unzip to Folder" dialog, change "C:\Windows\Temp" to "C:\Windows\Desktop\Tweakui", then click Unzip, OK and Close. Right-click the TweakUI.inf file and click Install.

Open the Control Panel and Tweak UI, then click the New tab. Tick the checkbox beside "Compressed Folder" if it is clear, then click Apply and OK.
