KK got me to make a test Screen-shot page up to email for him, and I did it blind.Have Practiced at it since and have improved in leaps and bounds!

You want to view an important webpage offline and you have been flicking through the Web history to see if there is anything archived ...and its turning up virtually Nothing.Frustrating isn't it?
Well I have discovered an easy trick on how to display all the text on the page less the HTML formatting which is always available if the Computer is connected
And there are some extended options too if you'd like to test these out and report back (I haven't) More about these shortly
As I say in the title, the save is done in a few seconds (regardless of the menu option)
I am using IE 7.0 but I think both Versions 6 & 8 will have the same menu choices

Method:
Open the Web page in Internet Explorer Scroll down the page to the Part/Quote you wish to view .I found that sometimes it opens part way down, and other times from the top so this is a compromise OK? (I'm still learning)
Next, look at the Top of the Page for
File click it and find
"Save As..." on the Menu
Click this,new window opens
3 menu boxes at the bottom
In the Top Box(
File name it will have the Page title which is the same that is displayed in Favourites....This can be edited here

The Bottom
Encoding box is best left alone unless you are having text display issues with the settings should you mess it up is Unicode (UTF-8)
The Middle
"Save as type" box is key as to what tums out, so there are 4 options Here
Default (which I used) is set to
Web Archive, single file (*.mht)Press "save" and the file will appear in My Documents (Or whereever it's routed to?)
You cannot mistake the save Icon in this mode, It is a small Gold picture frame superimposed on a piece of paper and is Listed as a "MHTML Document" in Properties
As I said it does become "live" is opened when connected up

But you'll never lose this copy even if the page has been deleted on the Web

Save option 2 is
Webpage Complete (*.htm.*html) this saves as the stock blue "e" Internet explorer Icon Which is confusing. But it does carry over certain links such as pictures/animation? (Not checked this out) Again, Page becomes "Live" when connected
Save option 3 is
HTML Only (*.htm.*html) which I do not understand, is this mode for HTML code editors?
And Finally option 4 is
Text File (.txt) which is self explanatory
NOTE I noted when moving the "Save As" Menu setting, the "saved" files were appearing and disappearing Be aware of this! And secondly a folder is made(same name)when saving as HTML (containing various Items such as images and script files)
PS Google Chrome has these facilities too, but only Save Options 2 & 3 (Click the Page icon on the right side) or press CTRL+ 5 (which is non op! query: Bug in code?) Again needs further exploration
