Check out this program
It is an alternative to using the Belarc or Everest Scan programs to find out what the settings and components are on your computer.(Looks quite deep)
There is a gallery of screenshots on this link so you can see what it looks like before you download the program (2 MB)
PC WIZARD 2006

I installed it and I like it. It taught me a lot about my computer. It seems to be pretty stable in windows 2000.

Yes, I installed it my self so I answered my own question. That program is a good find. I really like it. The website warns about some potential bugs but I didn’t have any problems with it.

I tried the URL you suggested.

Nothing changed. PC World Icon still does not work.

(off the sites FAQ notes)
Give it a go and reinstall the program

Debug Mode
If PC Wizard freezes or crashs your computer, please try to :

Launch application with Debug Mode (hold down the ESC key until the SplashScreen appears). A new file will be created (C:\pcwdbg.log).
Please report it by sending an e-mail with this file (see Contact the authors).
PC Wizard Settings shows and you can disable the detection of some components, which may cause problems.
