If you have something on the IE 8.0 browser which is giving you trouble or you wish to Delete/stop it such as a Toolbar or add-on
and you are unsure where in the Windows Uninstall List it is situated and you wonder if you delete it, It may affect something else Confused
The other alternative Places to Look are in the Startup list and Administrative Tools Folder (Local Services)

There is a cleaner way with IE 8.0 and there is no difficulty finding this Feature or using it

This will take you seconds flat to open, locate and edit an item. Unlike all the other features above

Method :
Open Intenet Explorer.
Right Click on the Page

Select All Accelerators (for a Submenu) > Click Manage Accelerators and Select Toolbars and Extensions in the Left Frame They are all listed as Browser Helper Objects Select any one and a Disable Button shows

The other Items are Search Providers which can be deleted or Default changed. Also a tick box halting those cheeky Web pages getting onto the List as a Default Home Page. Looks easier to work with than the Box on the Front page of IE Smile

Next item down: Accelerators is where you can inspect what Accelerators are active on your Right click Menu .These too have Disable/ delete and Default buttons. I did note that the URL is displayed as to its starting address.
PS If you go back a few steps to the the Right Click Menu and Open Find More Accelerators This will take to Microsofts Add-on Page which has dozens of Items you can try out ...Only Proviso is You Must Delete 1 Item to replace another. The old Item is always on the list .Too many items may cause a slow down! New "Accelerator"Programs are being added often

Last Item is for the Panicky/Secretive In PrivateFiltering of which I've got Nothing ,nor no use for

Help and more information for all the above can be found by clicking on the Link on the lower left corner of the Window

Tip: On the Accelerators Web page swap the Language link around to see more (several English options) The UK "link" Site is about 15 pages deep( Filter by clicking on the Links on the Left)
Can also find Web-slice and Search Provider links here too (Lower links on the index)
