You need this otherwise no updates if you are on XP!

If you have already validated your copy of Windows, there may be an update available, it depends on how recently you did it. Go to Tools>Manage Add-ons, highlight "Windows Genuine Advantage" and click on "Update ActiveX", it'll then tell you if an update is available for you.

I could not get it that way I got it by clicking Windows Update on the Start menu (Not the shield icon) This took me to the update page and clicked on the Express Get high-priority updates (recommended)button
and the download window appears ...
File size is 443k and the number is KB892130
Automatically senses if the ActiveX controls are set up wrong and produces a warning message (I'm using XP Pro)
Older setups may show a prompt message to allow this to run .
ActiveX security control setting in Internet Explorer coming into play? set at prompt NOT allow

BTW The regular scheduled updates are due in a day or 2 This has come up out of order Roll Eyes
