Ok, here's the deal... my friend and I were surfing the internet the other day and came across a totally random picture of a woman in a bubble bath typing on her laptop which was sitting on the side of the tube. I don't know if this photo was real or edited... in any event that doesn't matter when it comes to my question.

So my friend and I just started pondering whether or not such a setup would shock the user. It was a totally random conversation, and for the record, neither one of us is considering doing the above. HAHA Just wanted to make that clear so I don't get a lecture about water + electricity or something. Smile

So assuming the laptop was plugged into an outlet (not running off the battery) would this shock the user if they were sitting in the tub and touched it? What about if it was only running off the battery? This is completely random and I'm just asking for the heck of it. I know laptops are somewhat waterproof, but I don't know to what extent. I also know I've typed with damp hands before (and nothing happened), but have no clue how the bathtub situation would turn out.

I remember a recent commercial with a man walking through a pond using his laptop and wireless setup. Obviously he wasn't getting any electricity from a plug, but I was thinking, "My GOD! If he should DROP that thing... its a gonner!"

If HE was immersed in the water up to his chest and not being electrocuted, I imagine a woman who is in the bathtub may also be safe if she doesn't submerge it.
