sarah, Have you looked for thses programs in the Add/Remove program list in your Control Panel? If they are listed, uninstall them, the Acer program is most likely something similar to Backweb, which HP puts on their computers, and you dont need anyway. If need be, you can call Acer support, or go to the website, and send them an email detailing the problem, and see what they say to do.

Very good suggestion from Chris. You can also click: Start Run Type: msconfig Click OK Look in the startup folder for any file that is similar to these two. If you find it, uncheck it. Also, look in the Services section and use the "Hide all Microsoft services" option. See this picture.Dwight
