ivnj ******************************************************** 05-19-03, 10:58 PM Bazcaz Thanks for that ivnj, there is a new free Print Screen software program that does all that and more....great for capturing games screen pics too,you can check it out here: http://www.boumchalak.de/Tools/GCS/gcs.html ******************************************************** 05-19-03, 11:40 PM ivnj It doesn't even say where to download it.
ivnj ******************************************************** 05-20-03, 12:08 AM Dwight On the linked page posted by Bazcaz above, there is a "Download" link. That link takes you to this page. Look in right hand column and you'll see 3 different program download options.
I have a page about the Print Screen key on my site, too.
Dwight ******************************************************** 05-20-03, 12:55 AM ivnj I got it but all I see are options and no capture part.
ivnj ******************************************************** 05-20-03, 01:28 AM Bazcaz invj,...Just load the program in to the Systray, set the options to where you want to save the capture to and also the format..bmp,jpg etc have the screen you want to capture visible and press Print/Screen on the keyboard. ******************************************************** 05-23-03, 12:50 AM ivnj I found the perfect Freeware PrintScreen Program HERE. I can select the part I want to capture instead of capturing the whole thing and it goes straight to my clipboard instead of a file or printer if I want.
ivnj ******************************************************** 05-23-03, 01:00 PM JWooden271 I just use the PrintScreen key and Paint. Call me primitive, but it works. ******************************************************** 05-23-03, 01:42 PM Dwight I'm like JWooden271, I just use the basic Print Screen key. One feature I would like though, is the ability to do a screen shot with the cursor showing. I know that Paint Shop Pro offers that option, but do any of the links provided here do that?
Dwight ******************************************************** 05-23-03, 02:57 PM ivnj I used to use the PrintScreen Key and Paint. I still need Paint. But now I don't need two seperate windows every time.
I just output everything to the clipboard and rectangle only the area I want. Paste it into Paint and do it again without opening a seperate window.
Saves a lot of time. Even captures the mouse cursor. The 6th reply down and 3 above this reply (HERE).
ivnj ******************************************************** 05-23-03, 03:04 PM Dwight I think I didn't explain what I meant very well. I want the screen shot to show the cursor in the picture.
Dwight ******************************************************** 05-23-03, 03:16 PM ivnj Gadwin does show the mouse cursor in the pictures. Right Click on the icon on the task bar and select Properties or double click on the shortcut on your Desktop. Goto the Source tab and check Capture Mouse Cursor.
ivnj ******************************************************** 05-23-03, 04:37 PM Dwight Thanks, ivnj! I just installed Gadwin Print Screen and it does indeed capture the cursor when selected.
Thanks for the link!
Dwight ******************************************************** 07-26-03, 10:16 PM Tree I've posted this before: printkey It's my favourite one... so much so, that I actually ended up purchasing it!!

This is the best way to do this. Jwooden is correct.
Please please listen to me here. There is no such thing as free software downloads on a commercial website. If you EVER have to click "I accept" to get a freeware download, it is not free. You are agreeing almost without fail, to accept their advertisers deals when you do this. The statements about this are usually buried in 'jargonese' but undoubtedly there are very very few free 'anything' on the Internet. I recently had a great little freeware thing called screen calipers that would measure things accurately. After two months it started downloading things in the background. Before I found the source it had downloaded 335 applets on my system that were generating popups at a break neck speed. Once I removed the screen caliper software the trouble stopped and has not come back yet. This is a very underhanded tactic but again, if it is really free there is no "I accept" to click for a license or anything.
Ignore my advice, or take it, but I wanted to make the situation known. Smile

I use this method as well. I use the "print screen" button and then just paste it into word!
Works very well.
Wink ******************************************************** 12-09-03, 10:51 PM K.K. Tree I just said that he was using the best method. Why is there a 'but' in your statement?
Of course it is sound, I agreed fully with it and warned against the use of a bunch of freeware.
Tree what have you 'done had' tonight? Roll Eyes Eek
*note: I did edit my original post so that it wouldn't throw those who have reading as a second form of written communication! Roll Eyes
Geeze those French Canadians! ******************************************************** 12-10-03, 09:24 AM Tree OK OK... I read one extra tiny word into your first sentence which changed the meaning entirely.
Sorry about that KK......AND French Canadian, I AM NOT! Grrrrrrrr. Eek
