Finally got EZclean to work and did the registry. It pulled up a number of files, most or all HKEY files but some of those were MS. I'm a little (ok, a lot) scared to touch them, although I have copied the registry to my C drive. Can I...should I...?

It is safe to delete everything with a green mark ,maybe a yellow mark.
Bit iffy about the red marked items might possibly get a "do you want to delete this?" message and you can keep it "live" delete the rest
Ps To save you making a real mess (unlikely)make a backup file of the Registry (easy when you see how its done)
Click Start>run type regedit Click on File then on the menu select Export... then find somewhere to store the file job done!
Now if you get in a mess with the Registry do the same thing as above but select Import...on the menu instead, and you can reload that saved file thus restoring it back to what it was Wink Only warning It is only good for the same computer it came off use it on another computer you'll really cause grief!Eek

OMG...I did it. I called bedstor "byter." I am so sorry, dear bedstor, everyone knows YOU were the one who bit the deer. (Hope Tree doesn't tell)

Registry cleaning... one of the most overlooked, but most important ways to maintain your Windows machine.
