If you have a graphics card which the Computer can utilise as Extra Processing Capacity (marked CUDA) I use this (automatically) to deal with Dedicated BOINC Work units that have been allocated to me Thus I can run 2 or 3 at a time and it works rather well (Program requires 5 minutes per day Housekeeping to check Progress, adjust where needed)
Now,here's the Con side Issues ,Most of the Time Adding extra memory (RAM) is the answer.(Every case is different)
They are...Jerky Webpages (odd slowdown) updating WebPages is sometimes impossible Frown Workaround is to Turn on SLI if you have a 2nd Matching Graphics card (Has to be the same chip set(and RAM size) Not brand) Thus I have a "pair" Of Nvidia Geforce 8600GT Cards with 256 MB RAM each

The second issue is more annoying even with SLI Turned on (But can live with it) Run any Video player or streaming video and the Sound (if any?) is Fine but the Picture is Jerky/buffering/choppy as though its almost on Dialup speeds
To get back full speed/quality Simply Suspend the BOINC CUDA Graphics "work" until later
Is no big deal on my BOINC Account manager, it auto selects another Project (I have 9!) to resume or looks for new work automatically if its ran out...A No Brainer Smile
