Does anyone know where I can get a recipe for falafel aysh tanoor? I've found a lot for regular falafel but not for aysh tanoor. -yafa +++++++++++++++++++++++ 10-16-02, 11:42 AM Lydia What is the difference between Falafel and Falafel Aysh Tanoor?
10-16-02, 12:09 PM Leppi regular falafel is put in half a pita with salad and tchina. falafel aysh tanoor is put is a wrap sort of bread ( I also want to know how to make that), I don't know what it is called, with salad tchina and sichoog. I've tasted both kinds and the falafel balls in the aysh tanoor always tasted different. So I wanted to find a recipe for the falafel balls that were specific to falafel aish tanoor. -yafa
10-16-02, 12:55 PM Lydia Yafa, I'm wondering if there is the possibility that there are not specific recipes for the two "different" falafel's you mention but more likely in their "authenticity" - could very well be that ones you liked best were from a recipe of a middle easterner as opposed to some americanized version. Happens alot with international foods.....I've had falafel that I've really liked and I've had some that was just, well "fullawful"!!
A couple of recipes are included here. I'd love to get the recipe for the ones you mention if you find one...
10-16-02, 01:32 PM Leppi All the recipies I'm talking about are from israel. There are numerous falafel resturants, especially in yirushalayim (where I am from), and I've noticed a differance in taste between the aysh tanoor ones and the regular ones. MY favorite place is shalom felafel in yirushalayim right near derech aza. they have regular falafel and aysh tanoor and the two different kinds there taste differant. -yafa
