Please feel free to pass this on. SSMAC is a charity founded in NYC in 1919 by General John Pershing and Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. I have been involved with it since 1985. It exists to provide low-cost hotel rooms to active and honorably discharged service personnel for as little as $35 a night, based on rank. It is on Lexington Avenue at 37th Street and can accomodate about 65 people at any one time. Stays are limited to no more than three weeks a year. Military cadets are also welcome, as are families and kids.
It isn't fancy, but it is clean, safe and cheap. Since 1919 we've had over 2 million people through the Club, which receives no government money.
Please let any active or former service personnel know. This applies to allies of the US, as well. You can check it out on-line and make reservations at SSMACLUB.
SSMAC exists for service personnel, so feel free to use it!
