I have a 1996 town and country van and the slinding doors make alot of noise while driving it is a rattle noise. What could this be? it almost sounds like they are loose. Could they need to be tightened or new weather seals and if so how do you fix this?

Here in the Uk Years ago We had a few vans fitted with these doors and Like yours they rattled & whistled Mad
And what the owners did was to check the Door carrier bolts (top and bottom) were secure Meant standing on a step ladder with a torque bar and socket Also tighten all the bolts on the Runner bars Will be a bit hidden if there is a sliding runner with Bearing ...Do try to brusgh the muck out Bit dirty Sorry!Might hide a bolt? Can Move the weather seals if allowed to build up

Next the Dirty Job...Buy a Tub of LM grease from the Motor Parts store (cheap) It will last you years and is good for most general Jobs around the house Too
After Tightening,Smear this with your finger over the tracks and on the wheels on the door if they are in view? Put too much on. You'll have grease over the van seats and on your clothing Red Face
Open and close the doors and the action will be a Lot smoother as the grease spreads over the hidden parts
As regards the Weather seals not too much you can do,bar check they are inline and Not
perished Though you can get any cheap Liquid Dish cleaner and apply it neat to the rubber and it will put some flex back into a tired seal or to push in a seal easy Wink
Ps Tire fitters use it to Fit New tires

there is no quick fix.

Don't want to buy a Chilton book. I do most of my research at my local library. If it is a minor repair, I take down some notes. Major ones I sign out the book. Much cheaper and I don't have a collection of books I don't need.
