I have a flat on my car, but a few weeks back someone robbed my car and now the key that turns the special lug nut on my wheel is missing. What can I use to cut that lug nut off? I can't use a torch. And need an answer pretty quick because I have to get it moved from where it is.

My boyfriend had the same problem.
You need a grinder, with an abrasive disk.
On both sides of the lugnut, you want to grind them so they're flat and parallel. The whole point of this is to be able to fit an adjustable wrench around it so you can you just wrench it off. With the wrench, you're going to need a hammer or a metal pipe to increase your leverage arm because you're probably not going to have enough leverage to move it.
Second option: Go to Home Depot or Lowes and ask someone for EZ OUT. This is like a reverse thread screw. You get a drill with a bimetal bit, drill into the middle of the lugnut and put the screw in the hole. As you tighten the screw, the looser the lugnut will get. Make sure you ask for a big EZ OUT when you go.

Now, if any of this doesn't make sense in the way I said it, please email me and I can help you more, send you a picture of how to do it. None of it's hard, it's just going to take a lot of work.
Third option: call a tow truck.

Good luck.

What might work when you have grinded a flat on it is to try to turn it with a plumbers pipe wrench(aka Stilsons) Pics here:

Hope they are as cheap as these? Roll Eyes
All they need is a piece of stud to wrap the jaws around and a short scaffold bar is adequate to provide sufficient leverage as the other answerer says.
They feel a bit clumsy but tighten them up and exert pressure they have a better grip than Mole grips which may slip doing the same job or bend the handles? Frown

I suggest using an impact socket a little smaller than the wheel lock. Bang it on with a hammer and then twist it off.

Those "keys" are usually available from car dealers or stores that sell wheels. I would try a can of "fix-a-flat" first just to get the car moved. Go for the non-flammable variety. After you get it home, you can try all of the above.

I think all of those keys are slightly different. Dealers or repair shops should have a "master" key lock.

I didn't even think of fix-a-flat. That is a great idea!! Cool

I agree .The "Fix a flat" aerosols are good for "get you home" so long as there is nothing lodged in the tyre Or it's been slashed (rare but it happens)
Once it is inflated head directly for the nearest airlne at the garage and put the proper pressure into it.
The aerosols only give enough pressure to get the vehicle rolling Red Face Don't try driving it at your normal pace! Treat the handling as suspect until you check the air pressures OK? 25-30 MPH Max in a straight line(might be a recommendation on the can?)
Idea! Take it to a Place where they replace Tyres And they might have a key to take the nut off? They may have them on sale there will save you a lot of hassle? And take the registration Document to prove you are the cars owner Wink Otherwise they'll refuse to do the job, or call the Police! Red Face
