I am thinking of buying an 08 Hyundai Accent. Anyone have any opinion on the car?

I really loved our Accent. However that was about 6 years ago I owned it. I don't know about this year version, but the model should only have improved.

I also love our current Toyota Carolla.

JR, I see in another post that you have an Accura. While Hyundais are definitely improving, I think your old Accura may outlast a 08 Hyundai.

I'd be trading in my 91 Accord. Don't want to put more money into it and it needs work. I love that car, but it is time to say so long.

I have a Hyundai Elantra. I bought it brand new in 2003. I know it isn't an accent but I can tell you that Hyundai is a good car. I have also previsously owned a 1991 Hyundai Sonata.

With either car, I have not nor did not have/had any major problems.

I will warn ya though. Don't buy the auto parts from the Hyundai dealer, if you can help it. They are freakin' expensive.

Luckily there is a Hyundai Junkyard about 2 hours from where I live. I can sometimes find parts there for pretty cheap. Like I needed a new plastic console piece for my Sonata. The dealer wanted to charge me $45- while I found it at Hyundai Heaven for less than $15-

Some things can only be done at the dealer. Like Transmission flushes. The Transmission fluid they recommend was only available at the dealership as well.

Thanks for the heads up. I will take a look at the Elantra, doesn't seem to be as bare bones as the Accent. Not surprised at dealer parts and service prices. Someone once told me that that is where they make their real money.
